Fall offers many curriculum based outdoor activities including visits to Farms for pick-your-own & maze fun, Botanical Gardens to study the changes in trees & plants and Living History sites for hands-on activities.

 

To help plan September curriculum focused classroom activities or field trips for your students, try these themed celebrations.

Student Illnesses

Any student sick/not feeling well needs to stay at home.  If a student arrives at on-site classes and seems sick, they will be sent home as soon as possible. Parents, please designate someone in advance who can pick them up immediately.

Student Dress Code

All students must wear their SHABACH sweatshirt, hoodies, and sweaters at all times. Any other attire is a dress code violation (please visit the Back 2 School page on our website to access the Code of Conduct & Dress Code Form & a sample dress code violation).

Senior Graduation Planning Meeting

1st Senior Meeting is on Sep. 25th at 7:00 PM and will be hybrid (the video link will be sent to the 2024 Seniors soon). It is a Mandatory in-person meeting if you plan to graduate with SHABACH! in May 2024. Please let us know if you plan to attend virtually.

Student School ID

All ID forms must be turned in by Sep. 15th. Students who have not turned in ALL their forms will not be allowed to participate in our program or attend classes as of Sep. 22nd. (please visit the Back 2 School page on our website to access the ID Request Form and remember to purchase your IDs via FACTS before completing the form - $5 per ID).

REMIND App

Parent/Guardian’s, have you signed up for Remind? A test text will go out by September 22nd. Please let us know if you did not receive it.

Emergency Medical Form & Activities Consent Form

All permissions forms (Code of Conduct & Dress Code, Emergency Contact & Medical, Activities Participation & Photo Release Consent, etc.) must be turned in by Sep. 22nd. Students who have not turned in ALL their forms will not be allowed to participate in our program or attend classes as of Sep. 25th. Student Technology Requirements (ON-SITE)
Each student should have available to them a device, preferably a laptop or desktop, to complete their online assignments on-site.  They will also need the following: a printer, copy paper, and ink in their home workspace.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Students observed struggling with the onsite course content after 6 weeks, will be advised to hire a private tutor for their student moving forward. We do not want to hinder the success of any student, so, you also may be asked to withdraw your student from the class to pursue a more individualized plan. Parents will be notified via email and/or a phone call by the teacher.


PARENTS/GUARDIANS: REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR STUDENT’S GRADES IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM*, IN THEIR ONLINE PROGRAMS, AND WITH THEIR INDIVIDUAL TUTORS. THIS IS ESSENTIAL TO REMAINING UPDATED ON THIR STRUGGLES, STRENGTHS, AND WEAKNESSES. 
*Log into Google Classroom to view their activity in their academic classes. Please provide your email to their SHABACH! Christian Academy Homeschool Tutor to be added as a guardian (Tutor emails are located on your student’s syllabus and in Google classroom). Guardians can receive email summaries about their student’s work in class, which include information about missing work, upcoming work, and class activity
•    Missing work—Work not turned in.
•    Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow or that’s due in the upcoming week 
•    Class activities—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.
You MUST log in WITH your student (under their student account) to view their grades & communications from their teacher about grades.

Position Descriptions: 
•    Hall Monitor: oversees the general safety of the Homeschool campus. As a hall monitor, you help provide a safe learning environment for the students, teachers, and other school staff. Your job duties range from patrolling the grounds, to escorting students to and from the snack rooms/lunch room, to compiling reports on student behavior and assisting staff.

•    Year Book Committee: advise and provide guidance and direction on the yearbook, outlining the yearbook’s layout and overall design, help develop the yearbook’s theme and style, develop the yearbook’s content, edit photos and copy in the yearbook, including labeling and cropping images where needed, check the yearbook for spelling and grammatical errors and also be responsible for fact checking, and will work with the Administrators to develop interesting and factual copy for the yearbook, work with Administrators and members of the committee to finalize the submission details on yearbook including publishing, printing, and supervising the yearbook orders/sales.

•    Field Trip Planning Committee:  responsible for organizing and facilitating interactive learning opportunities for the school’s parent/student community that include curriculum centric enrichment activities focused on meeting grade level standards; and organizing and facilitating field trips and special events for the school. The employee will act as a liaison between the school and its families.
